633 ACCU-PRO Standard Controller Setting A Reel
Setting A Reel On The 633 ACCU-PRO Standard Controller
Start by placing the rear roller into the v mount behind the cutting unit. Move the top plate in or out as needed to avoid grinding interference.
Unlock the lock handles on the cross-slide assembly and rotate the handle wheel until the dial indicator on the cross-slide assembly reads 0 with the long hand and 3 with the shorthand.
Place the Accu-positioning gauge on the lower pin on the right side of the grinding head. Place the height stop on the gauge rod. Allow the height stop to travel up to the reel blade. The handle should align with the black stripe decal on the side of the gage.
Retract the gauge rod. Move the grinding head to the left side of the reel until the position mark on the gauge aligns with the position decal on the front tooling bar.
Allow the gauge rod to travel to the center of the cutting unit shaft. Hold the button for 3 seconds until the lights blink. This will reset the gauge value to 0. Then click the button once to take a measurement.
Retract the gauge rod and move the grinding head back to the right side of the reel. Allow the gauge rod to travel back up to the center of the cutting unit shaft and click the button. A light will flash indicating adjustments are needed.
Use the grey cross-slide hand wheel and spin the wheel to move the carriage up or down until the green light appears on the indicator. Note, the more rapid the blinking, the closer you are to level, as shown by the green light.
The light's color will indicate which way to turn the wheel.
Retract the gauge rod and move the positioning gauge to the vertical upper pin on the grinding head.
Move the grinding wheel to the left side of the reel. Allow the gauge rod to travel to the center of the cutting unit shaft. Hold down the button to reset the measurement. Then press the button once to take the measurement.
Retract the gauge rod and move the grinding head back to the right side of the reel. Allow the gauge rod to travel to the center of the cutting unit shaft. Press the button. Turn the orange hand wheel until the green light appears.
Lastly, adjust the proximity sensors on the left and right side of the reel so the grinding wheel aligns with the blade edges.
Your reel is now set up and ready for spin grinding.
